The AquaEl BioceraMax 1600 1 Liter is a unique contribution designed for biological water filtration in freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums and terrarium pools. It is in the form of rolls made of fine-grained sintered glass ensuring an extremely large filtering surface (1600 m2).
How does it work? On the inside surface of the pores of the BioceraMax strains of useful nitrifying bacteria from the genera nitrosomonas and nitrospira are being settled. These microorganisms use metabolic products: ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrospira) toxic to fish in their life processes. Nitrifying bacteria oxidize ammonia and nitrite to form nitrates, which are much safer for the inhabitants of the aquarium.
