Internal and External Models

While we generally recommend using media reactors inside a sump to simplify plumbing and prevent leaks, we know that isn't always an option. IceCap offers both in-sump and external models, each available in three different sizes. Whether you have a nano reef or a large display tank, there is a size and style to fit your setup.

All Pumps and Plumbing Included

It is common for internal reactors to include a pump, but IceCap goes a step further by including all necessary plumbing and a dedicated pump, even with their external models. You don't have to worry about sourcing the right fittings or picking the properly sized feed pump. Everything you need is in the box—just add your choice of media.

High-End Finish at an Affordable Price

IceCap reactors aren't the most expensive units we carry, but they certainly feel like they should be. They feature heavy-duty, thick acrylic construction and titanium thumb screws that won't strip, bend, or corrode. The build quality gives these reactors a premium, "pro-grade" feel without the premium price tag.

Removable Media Container

Our absolute favorite feature is the removable inner canister. With traditional reactors, maintenance is a chore: you have to disconnect pumps and tubing, haul the entire heavy unit to the sink, and struggle not to spill inside your stand and on your floor.

With the IceCap design, you simply turn off the power and loosen the lid. The inner sleeve slides right out, allowing the water to drain back into the reactor body naturally. You can then carry just the lightweight sleeve to the sink to swap out media and rinse the sponges. This feature alone makes maintenance significantly easier and is the primary reason we recommend the IceCap Media Reactors.
