This Fluval FX4/FX5/FX6 Monthly Service Kit w/ Pads Package includes FIVE items: the Fluval FX Carbon Foam Pad 2-Pack (Fluval A249); Fluval FX Ammonia Remover Pad 3 Pack (A259); Fluval Phosphate Remover Pad (A262); Fluval FX Nitrite Remover Pad 3 Pack (A265); and the Inland Seas Super Lube Silicone Lube, 1cc.

Fluval's FX Canister Filter Monthly Maintenance Instructions:
To prevent sudden failure or reduced performance, Fluval suggests the following maintenance be performed every month on their FX Series Canister Filters:

Unplug the filter prior to cleaning
Clean and lubricate the included Motor Seal Ring (with the included Inland Seas Super Lube Silicone Lube)
Check and clean the impeller and intake Stem/Strainer
Check and clean the ribbed hosing
Rinse the Bio-Foam in tank water
Rinse half of the BioMax in tank water
Replace the included Carbon Foam (every month)
If you're using the optional Ammonia, Phosphate & Nitrite Remover Pads, they should be replaced every month as well.
