The Fluval 307 Canister Filter & STARTUP PLUS Package includes three preventative products recommended for use, and four products you should definitely use with the Fluval 307 Canister Filter during the first three months of operation.
DEFINITELY USE
Basically, these four products will need to be purchased soon after
purchasing the Fluval 107 Canister Filter. Might as well get them with
the Filter.
RECOMMENDED USE
These Remover Pads are essential to preventative aquarium maintenance. Ammonia and phosphate are commonly found in tap water. They are also the result of fish waste and the breakdown of uneaten fish food. Phosphate, nitrite and ammonia are all problematic. They all lead to algae growth. More importantly, ammonia and nitrite spikes are toxic and can kill your fish. If a fish dies in your aquarium there will be an ammonia spike that could kill all the other fish if you are not using an ammonia remover. Keep in mind, you may not notice a deceased fish until you come back from vacation.
