In many cases, the best choice is a master test kit with various types of tests (for example, the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater Master Test Kit has pH, High-Range pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate tests). For measuring temperature there is no specific recommendation.
